Years: 3069BCE - 2926BCE
One of the largest ancient mounds in Israel is tel Bet Yerah, also known as Khirbat al-Karak, situated on the southern shore of the Sea of Galilee.
Known also as Al-Sinnabra, its Arabic place name, excavations have shown that the site was settled continuously from the Early Bronze Age until the early part of the Islamic Period.
A stone palette with Egyptian motifs, including an ankh, will be found during the 2009 excavations,
The discovery points to trade and political relations with the First dynasty of Egypt at approximately 3000 BCE.
